About Squatchdetective.com

Squatchdetective.com was the creation of Steve Kulls, aka "The Squatchdetective". First created in 1999 as home of the Adirondack Research Organization. (http://feeyellow.com/squatchdetective)  The site was taken down and was dormant for over two years while Steve was an investigator with the BFRO. Shortly after leaving the BFRO, Steve launched Squatchdetective.com with a national outlook in December 2005.  The site under the leadership of Steve, has become a pillar of debunking hoaxes and misidentifications, while occasionally finding a gem of evidence in a sea of analysis. The site supports a Forum, a Blog and a popular internet radio show giving much insight to the Bigfoot mystery.

       About Squatchdetective.com founder Steve Kulls

Steve had a lifelong fascination with the Bigfoot phenomena since an
early age. In 1999 after reading "Monsters of the Northwoods", Steve like many
of the general population had believed that sightings were exclusive to the
Pacific Northwest, learned that there were numerous sighting reports close
to his residence in upstate New York.

Steve began his quest first in 1998 seeking knowledge from other researchers
in the field. In 2003 Steve met two of the authors of Monsters of the Northwoods
and was invited to apply for BFRO membership. By that time Steve had his own
small grass roots organization and website.

One of Steve's first tasks was to examine the Sonoma video.
After Steve had talked to the lead investigator, Steve conducted picture analysis on the videographer's website where it was determined the time line did not match the photos at all and Steve declared the Sonoma video a hoax on that premise. Several months later it was revealed that the video was perpetrated by the comic duo of Penn and Teller for their
cable TV series.

Steve then went after Tom Biscardi. Steve for over two
was forced to play the role of a Biscardi contractor, assuring friends that if Biscardi
hoaxed something, Steve would be there to call him on it. In June of 2008 Steve thought
he had uncovered a press deception but was forced to recant due to a possible
error. Two months later Steve would have his opportunity, when Biscardi tried to cover
up the now infamous Georgia Bigfoot Body Hoax. Steve later learned that Biscardi
was neck deep in the hoax.

Today after a brief respite, Steve continues the fight against hoaxers and misnomers in the field, while trying to ferret out the gems and possibly obtain the scientific evidence to prove to the scientific community Sasquatches do exist.

Steve firmly believes in a "boots on the ground", methodology of obtaining evidence for or against, evidence regarding the Sasquatch mystery.

Steve has had three sightings in the last ten years and a handful of what he describes as "most likely, close encounters" with the creatures, after initially entering the field quite skeptical.

Steve has appeared on numerous local news programs around the country and national
venues such as Fox and Friends, and interviewed in print in over 100 newspapers over the last ten years. Steve has  appeared most recently on the History
Channel series, MonsterQuest.

Steve is a former Licensed Private Investigator, in New York, has been invited to join a new Private Investigation partnership, and a former retail investigator of 18 years. Steve also works with disadvantaged children.

"I remember there being one serious internet radio program, devoted only to Bigfoot, called Bigfoot Central, which was off the air.  I saw an opportunity, to create something that could not only be factual, explore hypotheses, hear witnesses live, have interaction with the audience, be light hearted and entertaining, but also be completely devoted to the topic of Bigfoot/Sasquatch. I told my good friend Sean Forker about BTR and about two weeks later the Sasquatch Experience popped up and they were for the longest time were the Ying to our Yang.

We were always the show to tackle the controversial as well, from having people come on claiming to have something remarkable or having folks come on with the more controversial theories in the field. While I did not necessarily believe their claims, as host I had to act as the conduit, for the audience to act as the cross-examiners, and had the responsibility of keeping it civil, which sometimes, just wasn't in the cards. If I came out swinging, and I have a pretty sharp wit and tongue when challenged, I would never be able to bring these types of guests to the table again.

There were opportunities however to have a debate, with the willing and who would not take it personal and those opportunities presented itself, with my revealing debate with Erik Beckjord, (rest in peace)  where his quirkiness got the best of him, to my debate with John Johnsen, over the Bluff Creek Massacre theory. Honestly my debate with Beckjord, was perhaps the most fun show I ever did, and was for the longest time the highest in show ratings. Perhaps my Italian heritage, ala My Cousin Vinny permeates my liking for a good old fashioned debate every so often.

Eventually, we had several shows live from the field in various parts of the country, including, Arizona, Louisiana and Alabama, and one show I remember in Colorado. 2010, may see a return to that again.

The end thought here is, the radio show is a heartfelt project of mine. There have been trials and tribulations, but it's been a labor of love and although at times I may want to divorce it, I can't, because it is one of the loves of my life."
